Healing Through Love, Our Journey After Surviving the System

This zine is dedicated to the children who have lost there lives while in the foster care system.

What’s up!

First we give thanks to the lands we reside on, our ancestors, and all the beings that watered our growth and allow us to be in this very moment.

These stories are raw, honest, and may contain sensitive material. Thank you for joining us in this journey.

We are sharing these stories with hope that you will be moved to take action. We need to push for policy and legislative changes to happen immediately. Youth and families are barely surviving in the current state of our broken systems.

We need to work together and use our collective voices so we can create a better future for our youth in the system.

STOP KILLING OUR BLACK FUTURE!!!

In solidarity

Read every word. I thought in particular the section on “How We Could Have Prevented Their Murders” was very articulate about police reform and mental health and trauma support. Really moving work. I didn’t think I’d like the handwritten aspect, but I actually loved it. It’s part of the artistic aspect that held my attention!

I love it so much. The creativity is eye-catching & beautiful! I really like the policy reform suggestions & all of the things wrote on the sticky notes, I’m going to share those with my little sisters.
